Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Brandon Hall, the only boarding school in Atlanta which also includes a day school just a few miles from Atlanta’s north perimeter. Driving thru an established community of beautiful homes on a two lane road, I almost pasted the gated driveway winding back into a wooded estate dense with huge live-oak trees and Georgia pines. The Chattahoochie River runs thru the property, just below the onsite faculty housing.
Atop the hill was the entrance to the school offices, a stately old Southern home still conveying warmth and tradition. the director of Brandon Hall, Dean Fusto, greeted me in his office. The conversation was engaging as we discussed Atlanta’s growing international population and the direction of the school.
Presently, Brandon Hall houses resident students from 10 states and 17 foreign countries, attracting local day students as well. The headmaster has plans for continued growth of both international and local students, offering a solid educational basis beside sports, social integration, international experiences, making Brandon Hall a unique option in the Atlanta community.
